Axel Goes to the Temple

So proud of these grandkids who are old enough to go the the temple to preform 
Baptisms for the Dead. 
Since we have 2 temples so close to us, Axel tries to go often with his dad or mom. 
What a great example to the rest of his cousins.

 

January Happenings in Texas

Diamond Valley Elementary Family Happenings

The tradition at DV Elementary is to have a morning for the students to bring a loved one and have doughnuts and milk/juice. 
Denim took Clel and Bjorn took Kylie.

Bjorn was one of the few students that did well enough to compete in the Spelling Bee.

He did so well!  It was fun to watch him. 
He ended up being able to move on to compete in the district!

Red Cliffs Temple Tour and Steak Competition

We had an awesome family weekend!  Shaun, Katie and family and Erik and Joel came down to go through the Red Cliffs Temple with us.  Most of our southern Utah family were able to join us as well.  What a beautiful temple and what a blessing to now have 2 of them in Washington County.

We were grateful that my dad felt good enough to come with us.  He really enjoyed it.

We also had a steak competition between Shaun and Dan. 
I'm not a huge fan of steaks, but both were very tasty and everyone devoured them.
It was a meal fit for a king!

Dan made his eat and drink berry slush the day before so we could have it with our steak dinner.

 

January Cousin Time

Having both Kylie's and Katelyn's families living with us, some of the cousins are always together which can make for a bit of contention at times; however, more often than not, they get along great!

These photos just make me smile.  Woodrow and Cooper have always loved watching TV. 
The first one is presently and the 2nd was before they were even 1 year old. 
Dan was watching a BYU game and they were right there with him.

Martin Luther King Day Fun

Since the kids had today out of school and Clel & Greg didn't have work, they all decided to treat the kids to a day of fun.  We went to get Yogurtland for a sweet treat.

Katelyn and Clel organized a pretend movie theater with treats and all for the kids to "buy".  
They watched "The Greatest Showman".  It was so cute and the kids loved it!

January Birthday Celebrations

Loren celebrated his 6th birthday on Jan. 11. 
We weren't able to go up to Provo to see him, so I'm grateful Katie shared a picture with us.

And my sweet, kind hearted mom celebrated her 82nd birthday on Jan. 12. 
I bought her a Costco cake so that everyone who stopped by could enjoy a piece. 
I feel so blessed to still have both of my parents here with us. 
Kami takes good care of them since she and Zack live there for now.
Sure do love her.

 

Let it Snow!

 

We woke up to snow!  The kids were so excited and spent the day attempting a snowman. 
It's fun that we get an occasional snow storm in Diamond Valley. 
This one didn't amount to much, but the kids didn't care...snow is snow!

New Year's Day Hike

 

Living with healthy kids is good for me...they get me off of the couch :) 
We went for a drive up in the hills of Diamond Valley and took off on a walk.
It was nice to get some fresh air.
The kids took off and had fun running around.
