Grandpa and his Grandsons

Ever since Erik was a tiny baby Dan would bite off the hard part of the popcorn and give him the soft piece.  Since then he's done it with each of our kids and now his grandsons enjoy the tradition.
Little Liam is still toothless so he loves grandpa's soft popcorn.
Even though we celebrated Dan's 52nd birthday a few days before, he still had a couple of gifts to open on the real day.
Linkon is eyeing the cookies he got from Katelyn and Liam is waiting for his next piece of popcorn.
Love having the family together!

Our Peach Harvest

We ended up with only about 80 peaches off of our big tree because most froze back in April; however, most are the size of soft balls and oh so delicious.
Liam just enjoys rolling them around on the table ;)
We had Kari do her usual peach picking stunts up in the tree.
Whenever we need anything done high, she's our gal.

City Creek Mall

In August, Karson & Joy gave us BYU football tickets for watching Jordan.
We decided to make a weekend of it and spent some time with Kylie & Greg.
Greg took us on a tour of the Salt Lake area via the Trax....his daily transportation to the UofU.
I felt like getting on a Disneyland ride at first.  It was fun to let someone else worry about the traffic of northern Utah.

We had lunch at the Blue Lemon in the City Creek Mall, a beautiful outdoor shopping mall owned by the church.  This water display was fun to watch the spurts jumping across from each other.  It was a wonderful day!
Dan couldn't resist taking a picture of Greg checking out his teeth.  If he only knew ;)

Greg & Kylie move to West Jordan

July 20, 2012
One last picture of Greg & Kylie in front of their first apartment.
They are moving forward and heading to West Jordan to a new place.

Greg will be attending University of Utah at the end of August.
Kylie will be patiently awaiting for the arrival of little Axel at the end of September.

So hard to see them go, but it's a bit consoling knowing that Greg is such a great young man and takes such good care of our Kylie.

August 2012
This is their new home/apt in Midvale, Utah
They have done a great job arranging things and making it look nice.

Picture Collage in their dining room.
There's even a spot for soon to be little Axel.

Sure do love them both!

Double Birthday Dinner

Kambree turned 15 yesterday (Aug. 22) and Dan will turn 52 in a week (Aug. 29); however, because of church and other busy things, this was our only day to celebrate as a family and even then only Kari, Liam & Linkon could join us.
Their dinner consisted of steak, broccoli/cauliflower with cheese sauce, corn on the cob
and 2 types of rice a roni (beef for Dan and broccoli augratin for Kambree).
Kambree had Heath bar cake.
Dan had Mystery Torte.

Linkon saw the candles and took his seat asking for the "fire" ;)

Liam's Lunch

Our little Liam is 9 months now and still has no teeth.
He hates baby food but does his best eating anything else he can find.

He was in heaven with Kari's corn cob.
Too cute for words!!!!

Our Day of Apples.....Many Apples!

Our day began bright and early Sat. morning.
We have 1 Gayla Apple tree and it usually doesn't ripen until the beginning of Sept. but this year everything has been coming a few weeks early.
Dan was the official apple picker and....
 Kendyl the official apple catcher.
I tried both and wasn't too good at either so I was the official managing director.
The end result was over 75 gallons of apples just off the one tree and that's even after Dan thinned over half of them a few months ago!
Talk about blessings being poured from Heaven with no room to receive them.  We were giving apples away to neighbors, friends and family because we just couldn't use them all.
Many were bird pecked, of course, but oh so tasty!
A job well done my wonderful apple picker!
And to think we have 2 Yellow Delicious trees loaded with apples and breaking from the weight.
Good thing they don't ripen all at once ;)
The rest of the day was spent canning and drying all we could.
We had so many wonderful helpers!  Family is such a blessing.
Joy, Karson & Jordan came as well as Dad & Mom and Kari, Liam & Linkon.  Not to mention my happy helpers (note Kambree's happy to help face ;)
Dan made me an "outdoor kitchen" a few years ago.  It's so wonderful during canning season and is right out our back door.
All in a days work.  Can you believe that 6 buckets of apples only made 32 quarts and a gallon bag of dried?  Not to mention an all day job.
However, it was fun and very rewarding, especially when you consider the many yummy apple pies in our future!
Karson & Joy treated us to an outdoor movie to end our long day.
We watched "the Hunger Games".
 What a fun, memorable day.
I loved it all, even the sore back when I finally fell into bed.

1st Day of School (179 more days to go!)

3 more left in the Public School System and boy are they excited to go back!
We've had a very fast summer break....can't believe it's already over.
I told them to show their true feelings and this is what I got.
Then I told them to be act happy and Kambree is STILL showing her true feelings.
I think it's going to be a long school year!
Kendyl didn't want to smile since she just got an expander and now has a cute gap.

I'm proud of them.  They are great kids and try to do what's right even with all the pressures and bad examples that surround them.
I hope they have a great year and put forth a huge effort to get the most out of it.

Welcome back to School Life Kiddos!!!!!
Love you!

Our Life on the Day Before School

Kate actually doesn't head back to Dixie State until the 20th so she's still enjoying life and making cookies to help keep the rest of us in barely happy spirits.
Kambree and Kendyl enjoy one last day of rest and their favorite way to spend their time.
Kendyl reading and Kambree iPodding.
Mind you, this is 3:00 in the afternoon ;)
Joel enjoys a few last episodes of Linkon's favorite.....SPIDER MAN.
So much for attempting to put Linkon to sleep!
And Liam is just happy to not have to worry about it.....YET!

No more Basketball for you!

At our annual White Family City Pool Party, Dan had his annual Basketball injury.
Last year he was scratched and clawed and this year he had fingers poke
where they had no business poking.
Whoever did the poking ended up with about 1/4 inch of Dan's eye under their finger nail.
OUCH!!!!!
Dan has now decided to join the rest of us "old fogies" on the side line benches at any future
White Family Pool Parties.
Poor Guy!

Summer Harvest

This is most of our fruit trees and our garden plot.
We have almond, pear, apple, cherry, nectarine, plum, peach and apricot trees.
This year we only had a few trees with fruit on them because of a late frost; however, our apple trees are loaded.
Our garden is still producing peas and we've already enjoyed over 120 ears of corn with our 2nd harvest only a week away.
We also have carrots, onions, garlic, tomatoes, green beans, beets and strawberries in our garden spot.
Raspberries, black berries & grapes border the fence line with cantaloupe, pumpkins and squash bordering the back lawn.
And of course, the weeds surround everything, especially after our few big rain storms recently.
I found this huge monster buried in the tomato vines.....6 inches!!!  It was the biggest I've ever seen and almost took up a whole bottle (canning) by itself ;)

This is a sample of our harvest today.  So much work, but so worth it!!!!
YUM!!!
