Homecoming Dance Travan & Katelyn

Our beautiful Katelyn was asked to the Homecoming Dance at Dixie High by Travan Topham...a good friend.

Kari and Shaun worked her over doing her hair and make-up.  When they were done she looked gorgeous.
Travan made this plaque when he asked her out.  Cute idea
Kate bought her dress at the Bridal shop in St. George.  It took forever to find something that was modest.  She looked so good in it and had a pretty good time.

He's Home!

Yes, after 2 years in the San Bernardino Mission, Shaun has come home!
A mother's true joy watching her boy come off the plane after serving well.

Good bye Yukon

This is a strange post, but a great memory.
We have owned Suburbans or Yukons for over 15 years and they have become members of our family since they have housed all of us as we've traveled the highways.
They've taken us camping (since we've never owned our own truck), back and forth to grandma's, to temples and just places together.
This particular Yukon took many of us all the way to Palmyra, NY and around to other church history sites.

But now our Yukon era has come to a close.
With Dan's major paycuts these past 2 years, we can no longer afford the payments and are having to sell it. It almost breaks my heart since we will now have to take 2 cars to fit everyone whenever we go anywhere together.
However, we're grateful that we still have our home, food on the table and most importantly each other.
Good Bye Yukon!  We'll miss you!!!
Update:  Our Yukon sold within a month and we were able to get exactly what we owed on it...a good thing.

We're now the humble owners of our first "grandpa and grandma" car, a 1996 Grand Marquis.  It only has 50,000 miles on it and is in good condition with the exception of a needed paint job.  We bought it for $3500 and no longer have a $457 a month car payment...another good thing
